Legend says there once were twin boys named Gregory and David, who lived in a forest outside of England. The twins were alike in many ways, but they were also very different. Gregory had an interest in science and how the world worked. David, on the other hand, was very interested in magic. It bothered Gregory that his brother was so interested in something that was make believe, so he set out to prove to his brother that it wasn't real. David replied, "Poor brother, magic is real and I can show you." David led Gregory far into the forest between two trees that was a gateway into another realm. There once was a 10 year old boy named John. He lived in Alaska with his parents Jim and Nancy Freeman. John was an ice dancer. Instead of a dance partner, he danced with a stuff toy monkey. They won many competitions. One day, John looked over at monkey and told him that he wanted to go solo, but monkey didn't like this idea and began to cry. This stuffed monkey's tears contained a magic that brought him to life. Now in the middle of the ice rink John found himself twisting and twirling with a real live monkey! The monkey began to skate better than anyone John had ever seen before. John became very jealous of monkey, so he suggested that they have a competition and see who was the better skater. The following week was the ice skating contest. John was the first to skate. He was extremely talented and did his very b...

What did you learn from this assignment? In this assignment I was the person that had to figure out what story was being told by the pictures that were drawn. I had a difficult time at first figuring out where the story started and where it ended, but once I figured it out I started to understand the story. One thing I learned from this assignment is that when telling a story through pictures it helps when the events in the story are set up in such a way that the reader knows where the starting point of the story is. I also learned through this assignment that drawing pictures is a way for children to communicate and if there are not enough details in the picture or pictures that it can be very hard to determine what story the pictures are trying to tell. How do you feel about writing? I have never been a fan of writing. It has always been a weak area of mine. In middle and high school I remember having to write rese...
